Question

Restrict one app to specific ip on port 443

Aug 25, 2017 3:58AM PDT

I want to restrict a specific application on a pc thats uses port 443 to only go to specific ip addresses for security reasons.

I understand i can restrict port 443 to specific ips on my firewall but this does everything going to port 443 and would stop web browsers accessing https sites.

How can this be done? My firewall is pretty old so will newer ones do this?

You don't have the source of this application, so you can change it to only call that specific ip-address?

It is possible. But without my support.

It's technical so I'm going to share the app you are looking for but must for technical reasons leave you with your spare tire, jack and lug nut wrench to install your spare tire (again, it's technical and you must do the work here.)

Reading about AFWALL we see:
"Quick Guide
Using AFWall+ the first time

Click on Mode to switch between whitelist- (default enabled) and blacklist-mode.
Mark the applications that you want to block or allow (depending on the selected mode), for each interface."

FAQ is at https://github.com/ukanth/afwall/wiki/FAQ
Support is at https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957231

The app is in the Google Play Store.
