I am trying to get a handle on "restrict anonymous",such as,who needs it and what is its purpose.laymans terms would be appreciated.OS WIN 2K PRO.

For most home users and such, the understanding of the "anonymous" user and the underlying need to enumerate users and permissions especially as it relates to "servers" is information that you don't need. If you ever do, then you'll need to study a lot more..I know this....It's something that's not in my study list..

Hi Grif,
I don't think it will be in my study list either.I have a better understanding of it now.I ran microsoft baseline security analyzer and it said this might be a problem,so I wanted to check it out.
