Restoring old Application after reload

May 22, 2005 11:59PM PDT

I am running on Windows XP, Home Edition and had to reload the system. The reload saved icons etc and application programs but seems to have removed the registrations. Being the brain child that I am, I hadn't completed a back-up in some time. I have an application purchased some time ago and now the company is out of business so when I fire it up the program wants to contact a non-existant server for activation. Is there a way around this?

Some software will die and have replacements.

Such as the 321Studio software which you could just use DVDSHRINK (free too.)

But your post didn't include the name of the software so suggestions can't be shared.

The programs in question that won't activate are 321 Studios DVDXshow and DVDXcopy.

Try the noted (free) replacement.

How to download wasn't apparent to the casual observer but I figured it out and it works great.
