Resource for embeded program information

Jun 15, 2005 12:42AM PDT

I recently lost all my bookmarks because my hard drive crashed. One important one was a website referred to in a CNET column that explains the purpose of embedded programs in Windows, NAV, etc and the value or danger.

Does anyone know this website?

Thanks

Backup your bookmarks. It's VERY easy. In IE File>Import and Export ... and you'll get a wizard. In Firefox it's in the Bookmark-menu. The result is a small file (bookmark.htm) that you can write to floppy, or a USB memory stick, or copy to another computer or burn to cd, or whatever medium you use to backup all your other data to.
If the bookmarks are all you lost, you presumably have a good backup scheme already, so all you've got to do is regularly do the export to a folder that's included in your backup. Worth the trouble, as you experienced.

As the old saying goes....you learn something new every day. I had never heard that this could be done.

I just wish I could figure out a way to even search for the site I lost - have tried Google with keywords but no luck

BTW - Firefox *only*.....I am one of those of hate IE
