resolution problem

I had both windows xp and vista. I installed windows vista again. Now the highest screen resolution possible is too low.
Please help me by posting solution for this problem.

When you reinstalled Vista did you also install all the drivers? This looks like a video driver is needed.

ALL the drivers such as the motherboard drivers for Vista, the Video card drivers for Vista, the NIC drivers for Vista, etc.

When Vista is installed on a blank hard drive it only installes generic drivers it has for various hardware so some hardware may work fine, some may work in a limited fashion and some may not work at all.

Make and model of the computer might be helpful for locating the correct drivers as the note in red text immediately above the submit button you clicked on to submit your post suggests.
