Safe Mode is supposed to be a bare bones mode designed for fixing things that might have gotten screwed up. It uses all the most generic defaults so that it will work on the widest array of hardware without having to use specific drivers.
If you find yourself using Safe Mode often, then it's time to evaluate how you use your computer. Because Safe Mode is something you should very rarely have to use.
Windows XP Pro SP2
My other computers with Win Me, XP Home, XP Pro and previous ones with 9x all go into Safe Mode with reduced screen resloution, with the screen icons larger and text unclear.
This one computer with XP Pro SP2 now go into Safe Mode with unchanged resolution,i.e. same as Normal Mode,(1,024X768 on a 15'' LCD monitor), with the log-on screen the same as Normal Mode, but still with ''Safe Mode'' at the four corners and the Windows XP build number at the top when safe mode come on. However, the background is black instead of the default light blue. ''Help and Support'' also do not come on as with the other ''normal'' XP Pro. Any thoughts ? Thanks.
