Resizing windows

by Keverstone / May 1, 2004 8:09 PM PDT

In my previous installation of XP a resized window (enlarged by dragging on the frame) would always stay that size. Since doing a reinstallation, however, I have found that in some programs the resized windows revert back to their original size when I leave the program or reboot. Grateful for any information on how I can stop this.

Many thanks but I had no joy with the suggestions in the first part of the article.

In the second part I did not fully understand the deletion of the two keys. Should I delete everything in the right pane ? Or just 'BagMRU' and 'Bags' ?

Item 7 - customize your folder views also not fully understood. In what way ? Is it in FOLDER OPTIONS ?

In the left side pane you would right click the two entries, export them first to someplace on your computer, then delete them after the export is made. The export is done as a safety exercise in case you need to restore that key.

Simply drag the window to the size you want it to open to. It should stay that way after you do the deletion.

Many thanks. I exported and deleted the two keys and the resized windows seem to be stable now.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
