Resetting switch to factory settings

Mar 28, 2006 10:26PM PST

I have an enterasys switch and would like to reset it to factory default settings as to afford training to a co-worker. With the use of one command I would not have to go back in and remove the configuration manually. Is there such a command? The Mod# is 1H582-25 & Mod# 1H582-51.

Thanks,

Most network boxes have a small button (look carefully) that you push to reset the device to factory default settings. It's in the manual.

By the time I got back to the office my coworker found out there is a command that can be used rather than taking the switch out of the rack and dismantelling it. I believe it is "clear config" or "reset config". I am not sure which one worked but I thought I should share it with you. My coworker used it while I was out of the office. I will do another post when I find out the 100% sure answer.
Until the...THANKS!
