Question

Resetting Hard Drive

Feb 25, 2018 2:32PM PST

So I m stuck in the Infinite Windows Loading Loop, none of the fixes have worked and I just want to wipe my hard drive. But the standard hard drive wipe doesn’t work, I was wondering if there is a way to just wipe it from the command prompt as I can’t actually get into Windows. Thanks

The usual I use is

To boot my Windows 10 USB stick I created with the free Microsoft Media Creation Kit (see google) and when it asks me which drive I take it's option to partition and just delete all the partitions. It's clean and ready to install to.

See the picture below "Next you will be asked the Partition where you want to install Windows 10. Select your partition carefully and click Next. If you did not create a partition earlier, this setup wizard also lets you create one now." at http://www.thewindowsclub.com/install-windows-10-from-usb

Click each one, then delete each one till there are none left.

The hard drive already hasn’t Windows, I am transferring it from my old PCs to a new one, but I am stuck in the loop and can’t wipe the drive.

Like I said, I’m not downloading Windows. I just want to wipe using the cmd prompt on the Advanced Repair tool.

Your choice on the command line. Remember I can't guess what you mean by this Advanced Repair Tool. Link please.

Can't help much. Why?

The topic is what you put above and that looks cleared up. As to slow the usual is the person who installed Windows or repaired it forgot all the other things we STILL have to do after installing Windows.

I'm going to pause here and ask you to tell me what that work is.

Re: transfer Windows from old PC

That's not the way to get Windows on a new PC. The only way is to do a new install of Windows, then install all drivers according to the instruction of the motherboard maker.

You're lucky it works, albeit slow. To get it working optimally do it the right way. And that, alas, isn't free, since you need a new Windows license. Linux, however, is free.
