Resetting defaults

by Manfred Schwermann / February 29, 2008 11:48 PM PST

I recently got a new computer with XP Pro operating system. The first clip-art CD I ran brought up a box with choices of where and how I wanted to run CD's. I chose "Take no action" and now wish to change that. How do I go about changing that default choice? Thank you for any help. Fritz.

Open My Computer from the icon on the Desktop, right click the CD/DVD drive and select Properties, then click the AutoPlay tab.

From there you can select the options for each type of CD/DVD.

Thanks, Mark. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
