I have a customer's computer which is a mess. I removed 31 trojens from the Windows and system folder, ran spybot, Adaware, and Trendmicro's housecall. After all this work, it was pronounced clean. Upon restart, the browser immediately goes to the SUBJECT url. IE cache and cookie folders empied, Home page reset. Never seen that 1 before. It is an add site. I can't seem to rid the box of it. Any suggestions other than an OS reinstall? (which might be next!)
Matt

Have you ejected all the parasites you find with Adaware, Spybot, Cwshredder and Housecall?

Do you carry LSPFIX and it's instructions?

And does IEFIX (find with Google) help heal the final damage?

Do you ever sleep?! Thanks for reminding me of the other tools. Yes, all I found were killed. I ran each several times to make sure.... now I am not sure..

I guess it depends on what you're doing or what you're aware of. First, just be sure you have no utilities which has been installed to lock the home page. Second, "Spybot Search&Destroy v1.3" has a lock (Tools, IE tweeks, middle box check).
