Request for Password

Oct 7, 2004 11:39PM PDT

Before I am able to sign on, I'm continually asked for Windows Password. I've gone to Control Panel and tried to solve the problem there, but have had no luck.
How can I eliminate that step?

If you have anything other than XP, go to Search/Find and type in *.pwl and delete the files that come up (be aware that some of the usernames and passwords that you've told IE to save for you to log in with at various websites may also be lost once you delete the file so make sure you have those written down somewhere ahead of time so you can re-enter them later if you need to).

After deleting the .pwl files, empty the recycle bin and the reboot the computer. When it asks for a username, type in one, then click OK but leave the password area blank.

IN WINDOWS ME GO TO CONTROL PANEL, NETWORK. UNDER CONFIGURATION---REMOVE "CLIENT FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS".

THIS REMOVES THE WELCOME SCREEN.

If it is a Windows Logon, just push cancel and it will go away.
