Reprogramming message on TV

Oct 20, 2009 3:11AM PDT

I have a Sony KDL 37XBR6 and Comcast Cable HD model Pace RNG110. My husband turned it on this morning and he said the TV was blank and it said "Reprogramming" and something else. We turned it on later and it was ok. Do you think it was the TV or the Cable box? I don't think I ever saw that message before. I hope it was the Cable. Anything I can check or do? Or I guess just wait for it to happen again. What does it mean?

Power Failure?
Oct 20, 2009 4:43AM PDT

On my Panasonic, if I lose power for very long (<1 minute) the next time I turn on the TV it wants the time and to reprogram channels, although neither really need to be set, at least not so far.

In my case the TV finds the time quickly and the channels have never been messed up so I always say no when it asks to rescan them.

You might check the time and see if it is still right and your channel line up, if that is good then unless it happens a lot more it sounds like you took a short power hit.

Yes, power failure was the most likely cause.

I wouldn't worry about it.
