...you'll need to do whatever is necessary. The best way to start is by running an online virus scan. Click on either, or both of the links below and run the free scans that they provide:

Housecall Online Scanner

Panda Online Scanner

In addition, if you happen to know the specific virus name and the files that are infected, please give us that information.

Next, if you've already deleted the virus and you're only worried about the remnant "msconfig" entry, then the steps below will help you clean out the registry and therefore remove the "msconfig" entry. Be sure to make a backup of the registry before making any changes in the registry:

How to Backup the Registry:

IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE, BE CAREFUL. Click on Start-Run. When the box opens type in "Regedit" (without the quotes). Click Ok. When the Registry Editor window opens, Click on Registry in the upper left corner of the window, choose "Export Registry File". When the next window opens, be sure of the location where you are saving it to and give the file a name like Backup. Click "Save". You now have a backup registry that can be double clicked and will replace the new one you?re going to make, IF you make any deletions you don't like.

Next, while in the Registry Editor, click on the + sign next to Hkey Local Machine, staying on the left side of the window, then the + next to Software, then the + next Microsoft, then the + next to Windows, then the + next to Current Version. Scroll down and click once on the "Run" folder. On the right side of the screen will be some of the programs that load at start up. You can delete any of those you choose by right clicking on the program and choosing Delete. Find the problem program and delete it IF it's there. Then, once again on the left side of the screen, scroll down to "Run-" and click on it. On the right side of the screen are more programs that load on start up but have been UNCHECKED in "msconfig". Once again, delete the problem program IF it's found there..Now, scroll down do "Run Services" and click on it. IF the problem program is there, delete it.

Next, check the registry using the link below, just in case there are any "remnants" of the program in the "Add/Remove Programs" section.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.
