Repost: Open letter to Lee Koo by Charlie Thunell PL&T

I posted a similar post to this in SE before and found out it was deleted not too long after being posted, for some reason. Maybe you Lee can explain to me why it was deleted...

Some months ago a fellow member was banned for a limited time because he/she posted too many news articles in SE. It was called "disruptive behavior". I disagreed with the banning, but that's another story.
Now I see that another member is posting even more posts about news and nothing has happened so far AFAIK. I would disagree to have him banned just as I did disagree to have the other member banned, but now that it was said that we are not allowed to "flood" the forum with news posts, it does surprise me that this particular member is able to keep posting.

Is there any particular reason why he is able to do it and not the member who was banned?

I have no intention of starting a "war" here, but just am curious because of the different treatments that the two members have received.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Note to Charlie, while I was cleaning up the thread I accidentally deleted the entire thread. I apologize for this, luckily my browser allowed me to copy and paste your original message here.

Note: To all other who responded to this thread previously, please don't. I have addressed Charlie's question already. Thank you.

As I recall, this particular member was NOT banned for

flooding the Speakeasy forum with news link, but rather for excessive disruptive behavior that violated our forum policies.

Disruptive behavior...
Jan 25, 2005 7:54PM PST

Disruptive behavior was precisely to post links to news articles according to the moderators and to your email to this person Lee. He still has both your email and his own reply to you, so it is very clear what actually happened. That time it was a 90 days ban if I'm not too wrong.

I wonder if we are able to post links to newsarticles over and over like one of our fellow members is currently doing. If that is the case, then I believe that it is ok for me to do the same...

I see that my post got wiped. No big deal I guess, however, I was hoping you would point out the disruptive behavior part. Might be educational for all of us.
