Question

Replacing hdd with ssd, bios concern before continuing

May 7, 2014 4:48PM PDT

I want to replace my existing HDD with a SSD. My only concern is: will I have to set my bios configuration back to where I want it or will it remain configured? I'm almost certain it won't affect the bios. Thanks

No need to change anything in the BIOS. It's not affected.

Answer
Read the manual

Nothing should change elsewhere, treat the new SDD as HD media. Review the manual and see if anything pertains to what you plan to do, but it would be needless to worry until you have the manual or DOCs to read. I just don't see anything to get overboard about. Wink

Would it be out of line to suggest that the OP takes the original HDD and put it in an enclosure for future backups or for and system image?

BUT, we have no clue why or what the user plans to or got o this point. Regardless, a suggestion offers what else can be done after the original issue is resolved. -----Willy Happy
