Replacing glass and digitizer.

Earlier today I broke the glass on my phone. I later found this for my phone So I figured I'd give it a shot. But before I do I have some questions I'd like a more seasoned veteran to explain to me.

1.Do I need to replace the digitizer if only the glass is broken?
2. Are they fused together and how would I go about finding that out?
3. If I need to replace it where can I find affordable parts for this phone? (This is a Tribute 5 btw) .

If you can back to me I'd really appreciate it.

Only correcting the link for "aenonproxi"

I believe s/he (unintentionally) included the period at the end of the tinyurl link.

Nothing to miss...

There was nothing to miss. You got to the heart of the matter without it!

I only added it, in case anyone was curious to see what was  'later found for their phone'. Grin

Yes, it's a combined unit- but don't bother

The part cost and lack of warranty when you replace makes little economic sense IMNSHO though. Especially considering you can buy a new one with full warranty for between $50-80.

Did anyone happen to look at this link?( ) I still don't know if this is what I should replace the glass with. Especially since it doesn't come with a digitizer. I'm going through a slight money problem . I don't think I can replace it soon and this is my only alternative.

That's the responsibility of the seller.

If they won't answer if this is for your phone, you should not buy from them.

The digitizer if separate could still be damaged. You won't know till you replace the glass.

no way to know for sure

there is no way for anyone here to tell you without physically seeing the phone. you may want to check youtube to see if they have instructions on replacing the glass. It may tell you whether or not you should replace the digitizer too.

in addition, there is really no way to know whether or not that kit in your link will work with your specific model phone. some models have differences between countries and service providers. based on your questions, you may need to get a professional to look at and fix your phone. I know people who damaged their phones beyond repair when replacing the glass.
