Replacing Dashboard Lighting

Before I get a quote from a mechanic, I thought I'd just ask here: the dashboard lights on my wife's Scion XA have gone dime to the point of being useless. All of the emergency lights in the dash work fine (check engine, seatbelt, etc.) But the panel that illuminates the speedometer and clock are almost completely out. I was going to attempt to fix it myself but I'm a bit afraid I'd actually take a minor problem and make it a major one by accident. Anyone know how approximately how much it would run to fix something like this?
