Replacing a Dell 2350 fan

My mothers Dell 2350's house fan its really sounding bad. I would have replaced it already, but its got this weird green tunnel that funnels all the air though the heat sink of the P4. I was wondering, can I just take that off, buy a new fan, and replace the funnel?
Or do I have to buy a specific fan, that can hold the funnel?
