Question

Replacement Remote for Pioneer vsx 519v (volume only)

So I have had the pioneer vsx 519v for quite some time and I am still happy with it. The main purpose it serves is providing the surround sound for my TV. I recently moved and lost the remote. Because I only use it for my TV's sounds all I need is a remote to control the volume, that is all. Preferably want to find one as cheap as possible.

Will any universal remote work as long as I have the correct code, or will pioneer products only work with specific brands of remotes.

Thanks

..

I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative. I have seen simple universal remotes sell for around 15$.

Then try one.

A nod to amazon.com since you can return it if you can't find the codes. When I looked for this remote it was interesting that many were looking for those codes.

Buy a Harmony from Radio Shack

I see them on sale from $20-30 periodically. Or look online for a similar deal. Worth every penny IMHO.

Many options

There are many universal remotes that should give you control. You may already have another remote that has an auxillary device selection that would give you volume control just by entering the proper code. Even my satelite box freebie remote has two AV options. What other remotes do you have?
