I know Canada well enough so to check out the model number I head to shopjimmy.com and see if that lamp model is spot on.
Before I write one thing let's be sure you know NEVER to touch the old or new bulb with your fingers. Use the lint free gloves. Some folk get the cheap bulb and did not follow the instructions, the bulb blew or was off color. I guess some folk won't follow the instructions.
OK, use that to see what the price is in comparison. I go cheap too.
The lamp on one of my televisions is toast. The replacement lamp that I require is an XL-2400. I looked at Amazon.ca (I live in Canada) and there are a number of listings for the XL-2400. I inquired about one with a selling price of about $65 CAD as to whether it was a Sony lamp and was told that it was made by Phillips.
My local Sony Store sells the XL-2400 lamp for $350.
Given the huge price difference I am wondering if I should go with a non Sony lamp or the Sony one. Thanks in advance for any comments and or info.
