Question

replacement battery

Aug 19, 2015 7:37PM PDT

I have an Acer Aspire 5742 and need a replacement battery. I bought one via eBay couple of years ago but it never worked for more than a few minutes and the return postage just wasn't worth the cost. I have been advised to get only a genuine battery but how do I know it is genuine? A genuine looking sticker for the battery would be cheap. Suggestions?

Answer
Try one from Amazon and use Amazon Prime

That way the return is free. There's a chance there is some other issue that the laptop can't charge the battery properly.

Thanks for the reply, makes sense. I didn't realise Amazon has that option, haven't used it. Sadly as far as I can tell, no-one on Amazon ships to Australia. Any other suggestions? There are some advertised on eBay who ship here but can I trust them? I will check out if the laptop does actually try to charge it. It does to a degree but perhaps not enough.
