Question

Replaced motherboard, having issues.

Jan 10, 2015 6:08AM PST

First of all, my computer knowledge is sub par at best, so its no surprise to me that im having problems installing my new motherboard, (GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3). I've hooked up everything what seems to be properly, and it seems like everything is getting power fine. The problem is, im getting no display, my monitors are not getting any signal. Also, anything plugged into my rear usb ports, (keyboard, mouse, etc.) are not working either. Im not really sure whats happening, my only thought was that i may have damaged my processor or video card upon instillation. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Tell a little more.

If the BIOS shows but not Windows that's a well worn issue and we can chat about that.

If it's no BIOS then it's something else like a shorted out back side as many folk forget to remove unwanted extra standoffs.

Tell more.

Answer
nothing at all?

are you not getting anything at all when you power on. are you able to get into the bios? any lights at all? does the harddrive sound like it is being checked at startup? One thing to note, new motherboard, new drivers, if you are trying to boot to a harddrive that has an old os installed on it, it will have to be reinstalled.
