Repeated Ethernet router crashes

I have a network with a D-link (dl604) Ethernet router. My problem is 2-5 times a day my network goes down and I need to unplug it (due to static?) wait 10 seconds plug it back in and im up and running again. But im not interested in wi-fi because I do a lot of large file transfers.

My question is are their better routers where this doesn?t happen?

Is there something else I can do to prevent this?

Try other router if possible, borrow it from your friends or from the store, and test it..
