in Device Manager first. If it does not show up there, try to reinstall. If it still is not there, try scan for new hardware. If it is on board, you might try to disable it in BIOS and reboot. Then reboot again and re-enable it and see if Device Manager can find it.
If it is in Device Manager to begin with, try this:
I have had this work after removing Ad Ware items.
I repaired my friend's windows xp that was infected with a virus. Now everything works fine, but the only thing is he can't connect to the internet. The only internet connection he has is the 1394 one. When I hook him into the LAN, and go to "Create New Conection," I go through the set up process but nothing happens. He is also trying to connect to his wireless hub, but when a wireless connection is set up, again nothing happens. The small wireless icon in the lower right of the screen isn't there anymore so there's no way to "search for wireless networks in range" and try to connect to those. I tried setting up every type of thing I could, too (i.e. the various internet connections (thru router, another comp, or regular, etc)), and I even created networks, none of which seems to help. In device manager, I don't see anything to do with wireless so I can't see if it was disabled by accident. Downloading drivers directly to his computer is obviously out of the question since there's no internet access. I was thinking of downloading them on my computer and loading them on his thru a pin drive, but what drivers should I download? ANY HELP IS NEEDED!!! Thanks
