My uncle just gave me his old ASUS gaming laptop, with Windows 7, 8GB RAM, and a 2.2GHz processor. I already have a Toshiba with 4GB RAM and a processor around 2.3-2.5GHz, I can't remember. Should I pay to repair the broken motherboard and to buy Windows 8, or just exchange their RAM?
