Rename Adminstrator Account

Feb 3, 2004 8:55AM PST

I renamed my original Administrator account and created a password (as suggested by "Black Viper") for increased security. However I do not use it, I have another administrator account for daily use. If I should need to access Recovery Console will it recognize this renamed Administrator account. Thanks in advance.

It's a good opportunity to find out...
You could also try and rename it back to Administrator and see if that works.

Why not boot into the Recovery Console since you can exit it without making any changes.

Once in it you can also explore what it can do by typing Help and review the list of commands.

I tried booting to the Admistrator Account using the "changed name". It booted with no problem into the account. I have GoBack installed and for some unknown reason I cannot boot into the Recovery Console (I have it installed on my hard drive as a choice on startup) unless i disable it(GoBack). The next time I disable GoBack to defrag, I will follow your suggestion. Thanks.
