Removing single entries in drop-down list from auto-complet

Sep 25, 2005 12:00AM PDT

I don't know if this is possible, but is there a way to selectively remove words from a drop-down list that the auto-complete function generates is website search boxes, or in browser address bars? I find the auto-complete very useful but occasionally misspell a word that I type in and then have to weed through the misspells thereafter.
Thanks!

Try the delete key.

While such is in the registry, Windows (do you use Windows?) has yet to offer much more than a delete them all feature here. Try selecting that item, then tap the delete key.

That worked!

Yes, sorry I din't mention I am using Windows (ME). That worked wonderfully on Ebay's search box. Unfortunately, not as well on MSN Explorer's address box. When I highlight the entry I want removed and either hit Delete or right-click, nothing happens. I guess it's back to delete 'em all and start over.
Thanks Bob!

MSN Explorer uses PSP

Not that one, but Protected Storage Passview noted at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html

-> Wayne noted this fine tool in a surprising post in the Virus forum. Please consider using this tool to see what's in your closet of (protected storage) horrors.
