Answer
Add/Remove Programs?

Did you try Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs?

I would first see if Silverlight is included as an Add-on in your browsers, and if so, disable those first.

Any reason why you want to remove it?

Tried Reinstalling the Newest Version?
Nov 22, 2011 5:43AM PST

Here's a direct download link to the downloadable installer of the latest version. Click on the blue "Silverlight 4 Runtime" link in the middle of the page ("Silverlight Top Downloads), save it to your desktop, then run it. If you've got an older version installed, then new one should install over the top.:

If that doesn't work and you can't uninstall per the suggestion by Mark, then try downloading and running the Revo Uninstaller from the link below.. It should make Silverlight go away. Use the free version.

Hope this helps.

Removing and reinstalling silverlight.
Aug 24, 2012 12:21AM PDT

Thank you so much for suggesting Revo. A lengthy but very successful clearing out of silverlight. Was then able to successfully install silverlight 4, although took some time to work round firefox and figure out how to run the download with the browser closed... derr.

Cheers.
