Given we can't rename user accounts.

Did you start by creating your own user account and moving to this new account?

When you do this go ahead and create a spare backup ADMINISTRATOR account.

If you move the files to a FAT32 formatted partition, then into your NTFS formatted user account, that should clear the old user permissions from it.
