Removing old phone number

Feb 23, 2005 6:04PM PST

my wife has an old Sprint PCS phone.
Model SPH-A460

I was wondering, does anyone know how to remove the old phone number, so we can think about selling it. It has her old phone number in it, and she has taken her number to another carrier

Thanks

If this phone is like my old Motorola 120c, the number won't erase until the phone is programmed with new service. I bought my Motorola on EBay, and the number didn't change until the phone was programmed for service with my number, and that's done at the wireless service's end.

Right before shipping my old cell phone to conclude a sale on eBay, I called my service provider (Verizon) and they remotely deleted the inactive phone number from the LG handset over the phone.

This is an Audiovox and used to have Sprint PCS.

She has taken the phone number to another service, however, the old phone number still shows up. I thought there was a way to erase the old phone number.

Most phones can be manually changed to delete a phone # or replace w/ a new number. Check w/ Sprint.
