Remove www.computer-restore.com pop-up alert

Feb 19, 2016 12:45AM PST

A pop-up that redirected me to a new webpage occurred (it was the web page of hxxp://www.computer-restore.com) A pop-up box appeared saying I had been infected and it then gave me a phone number to call (866-915-6151). It is trusty? How can I do?

Start with running MBAM (the free version) from https://nl.malwarebytes.org/downloads/.
If that finds nothing, run the full scan of your own antivirus program.

If it only happens inside your browser (when you are visiting some page), check the add-ons to see if one of them is the culprit. Details depend on what browser you use (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera).

Is it trusty? NO.

DO NOT TRUST any popup that gives you a phone number to call.

DO NOT TRUST any popup that tells you to go to a website for any reason.

DO NOT TRUST any popup that tells you to download any software (even if it says "free") for any reason.

DO: search forums like this one for advice on getting "anti-malware" and "anti-virus" software.

SpyHunter NOT A Well Recommended Removal Tool- Usually SPAM

The links your post lead to SpyHunter and I wouldn't recommend it. It's not the greatest malware removal tool available.

Hope this helps.
