remove a programme

Apr 23, 2004 7:03PM PDT

I am using windows XP. I downloaded a programme called www.internetwasher.com which claims to help clean up your computer but I think its actually slowing it down and its probably spyware. I have tried to remove it using control panel but it does not appear in the add/remove programme box. I've located the files through explore but cannot remove it. Can anyone help??

kbossino, That "internetwasher" program is garbage and comes loaded with spyware/malware. Check out the kinks below for removal instructions. At the first link check out this paragraph and click on the "Httper" and "ZipClix" links.

"A 'trial' Internet Washer Pro seems to have been widely stealth-installed from March 2003. This also installs other third-party software, including the Httper and ZipClix parasites".

Tufenuf - many tks for your help I'll certainly give it a try. By the way I also removed the hotbar programme using 'add/remove' in control panel and it disappeared but suddenly its back again and I cannot find it in the add/remove area. Do you know of any way to get rid of it? I hear its also a form of spyware, right?
