Question

Remotely view event logs for user account

May 10, 2017 7:38AM PDT

Hi there
I am currently on the event viewer on a server (domain controller) and I want to be able to view the event logs for a user account. When you right click 'Event Viewer Local' there is an option to 'connect to another computer', which allow you to view event logs on PCs connected to the domain. When you click browse you can enter an object name, but only for Computers on Active Directory, not user accounts. So, is it possible to see the event logs for an Active Directory user account?

Thanks a lot!
Jay

You'll have to tell more.

I've only used Windows NT since 3.0 and now Windows Server but I never found something called user account event logs. The event log here, so far has been for the PC and if I want to look for something just about that user I have to sort the logs.

As it stands, my answer to your question is no.

I'm using Windows server 2012. Also, what did you mean by "if I want to look for something just about that user I have to sort the logs." Can you tell me how to do that please?
