Question

Remote

Sep 8, 2016 2:30PM PDT

I have a Samsung BN68-04027A-03 and have not had a problem with the remote until the last few days. All of a sudden the remote is only turning the cable box on and off but not the TV. I have tried to resync the remote with the TV but it still will not turn off the TV. If I unhook the cable box and just try to use the remote with the TV, none of the buttons work. The only thing I have not done is remove the batteries and hold down a button for 20 seconds to reset the remote. I will try that tonight. I have also ordered a new remote as the one that came with the TV does not look like the remote that is provided for this TV online. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Clarification Request
So, the basics?
Sep 8, 2016 2:33PM PDT

1. Fresh batteries?
2. I didn't find that model at www.samsung.com (USA here) so I can't see if the TV needs to pair with the remote.

Remote
Sep 9, 2016 8:56AM PDT

Yes, I have tried fresh batteries and I have already paired the remote with the TV. I have had this TV for several years and this problem just started this week. The remote will only turn the cable box on and off, but not the TV. When the cable box is on, I can change the channel, see the menu, etc., but if I change the source to the TV, none of the buttons work The red light used to come on and make a sound when the TV turned on and off, but the only time it does it now is if I manually turn off the TV. I noticed that the remote that came with our TV is not the one that is associated with this model when I look it up online, so I have ordered another remote.
