Different codes
Feb 20, 2009 3:23PM PST

mtestagolf,

The butons on the remote have different discrete codes built in. The Blu-Ray is going to have remote functionality that a regular Home Theater system will not have; as a result, those codes are specific to the remote device.

The A720 remote will control other Samsung DVD players, but the additional functionality on the Blu-Ray remote requires the Blu-Ray remote codes be seperate from the traditional codes used in the past.

I know that doesn't help your situation, but that's the reason.

Remote from Samsung theater 720 wont work on blue ray play

Thanks I thought there might have been something wrong with Rec. remote, when pressing DVD button at the top and nothing was happening. Plus punching in 000,027 codes and still nothing. I was just trying to keep it as simple as possible with the remotes. Ive got 4 remotes trying to cut down. Someone told me about a universal remote from Harmony do you know if it will control(Sam.tvser550,Bray2500, and rec.720) at the same time? Thanks again Mark

Harmony...
Feb 22, 2009 8:07AM PST

mtestagolf,

I'm not sure if the Harmony remote will have all those codes. I might check around this forum and ask other users if that has worked for them - usually that's a good indication for a recommendation. From the manufacturer's standpoint, I'm not sure what they've done as far as programming their remote... but I'll bet that information is available on Logitech's website.
