Resolved Question

Remote for sound bar, tv, cable

Feb 8, 2015 4:11AM PST

Hey everyone, I just bought a Samsung sound bar ( h550 z/a) I also have a new Samsung led tv as well. I wanted to know if there is a universal remote out there that will work for both devices. I have time Warner cable and that remote I can't get to work with the sound bar and from what I've read it won't ever work with the SB. if someone could recommend a remote that could work all 3 ( tv, sound bar, cable box) I'd appreciate it. Thanks

HDMI cord fixed my problem
Feb 8, 2015 9:02AM PST

I hooked up the sound bar to the tv running and hdmi cord and now my remote for my time warner cable box works. It controls the volume and power and that's what I wanted. To be able to use just one remote. So I don't know why that makes a difference but originally I just used a fiber optic cable running from the tv to SB i couldn't get the TW remote to control everything but then I switched cables and ran an hdmi from my cable box to SB and an hdmi from SB to the tv and its like the tv automatically recognized everything and the remote just worked. So my problem was fixed by using hdmi cords I guess?
