I'll write it's untrue. However if one were to try to dial into some ISP with said modem the story changes and there are legitimate issues that a good IT staffer would have to explain to you.
In short, you didn't detail how the modem would be used but at least I know it could be in some fashion some how. Which is why I'll write it's untrue.
I have been told that if I am running RDP on Windows XP Pro, to access a server at work that I cannot use the modem installed in the server. The connection between my computer and the server is cable based internet. The modem is phone line based.
Is this really true? If so, I assume there is no way around the issue.
