Question

Remote Desktop Connection Problem on Handheld

Feb 8, 2015 11:40PM PST

I have a handheld scanner gun (MC 92N0) running Windows Embedded Compact 7.

When I try to connect to a PC or a server using the Remote desktop, I get this error:

"An Authentication error has occurred (Code: 0x80090304)"

This happens no matter what I am trying to connect to.

Can anybody tell me more about this error, and how to correct it?

Regards,

It appears you need to input the "registration key" or similar to get further in use. If this is all new to you or actually have the authorized usage, then contact the vendor and/or service. Maybe some updates or allowance for new equipment has to be inputted. I exclude any possible "setup" issue, I assume you've done that or similar.

Domain account username or password is wrong. Something with the account must have changed but the device hasn't been updated. To access the server you need to login to the domain with your login account. I would think the login isn't the same account as your personal account because most places make you change your password. Our WIndows staff creates special accounts for this type of stuff where the password never changes.
