Question

Remote control Panasonic Lumix G3 camera from Windows tablet

Apr 9, 2015 8:31PM PDT

I have a Lenovo Miix tablet running W8.1. At the moment, if I connect the camera mini USB to the tablet micro USB, the tablet is not recognising the camera at all. What do I need to do to fix this, and how can I remote control the camera from the tablet?

Thanks

Ed

I don't have a laptop, but when I connect the camera to my desktop PC, it recognises the camera as a mass storage device. I've tried to install the latest MS updated camera codec for Windows 8.1, which is supposed to support my camera, but I get a message telling me it's not applicable to the machine (tablet). A 3/4 hour online chat with an MS support tech got me nowhere - he told me that this update for W8.1 wouldn't support a Lenovo tablet! In the face of that kind of lack of understanding from an MS tech, it's difficult to know where to go next ...

Sounds like the wrong driver.
