Remote Code Question

Jun 28, 2009 10:21AM PDT

I have a Onkyo TX-SR502 Receiver and a Samsung SMT H3050 Cable box. The remote code in the Onkyo handbook to control the samsung cable box does not work. I contacted Onkyo and they were of no help. Samsung has not contacted me back. Would anyone be know what the Samsung's code is for my Onkyo receiver's remote???

Onkyo TX-SR502 Receiver Remote Codes

I have heard of a lot of trouble with them, the only 100% answer I have heard is to get a Logitec Harmony remote, but that is an expensive universal remote.

The Onkyo uses seperate codes for on/off and most u-remotes will not deal with this well, but of the codes I have heard work here are some to try"
880 / 5130 / 486 / 502 I have seen people say these have worked for them on different u-remotes. Onkyo has a real "attitude" on the issue, not sure why but many higher end makers seem to have this same attitude proble.

In any event, you might try a Harmony remote from a place you can return if it does not work.

Good Luck

why not just try to get a diffrent cable box from the cable company.

its sound cheaper and easier then anything else.
