Remote code for Aveis DVD Player?

I am looking for the 4 digit remote code for an Aveis DP202AS DVD player so that I can control it from a Philips SRP4004/27 universal remote.

I was just given the DVD player which is missing its remote (and manual). I'm not able to find any remote codes for Aveis-branded equipment. I suspect this device may be a rebranded item but have no idea what other brand's remote codes may work on this DVD player.

I have tried Googling on Aveis but there doesn't seem to be any website for a company with that name. I've even tried a general search on Aveis to see if I could find out about this brand but that came up empty.

Without the remote, I have no ability to make menu selections which makes it difficult to choose options like "Bonus Features" from DVD menus. Also, I play a lot of DVD ROMs and need the remote to select anything other than the first item on the disk.

Does anyone have any idea what the remote code is for this player or how to find it?

The afterdawn thread was also started by me.I posted here when no one seemed to be answering. I have tried the codes suggested there and none of them work.

I thought I might get better results at this forum so I tried posting here.

I'm still open to other codes and approaches that might help me control the Aveis DVD player. Unfortunately, buying another player at this stage is not in the cards for now; I simply can't afford it.

Folk get upset all the time over remote codes. As time passes and a thousands of machines pass on, there's no central site for such codes since the code is specific to the new remote and is not standardized.

About as good as I've seen is codes for the Logitech Harmony.

2 ideas.

1. Try AVS Forum.
2. Ask if Logitech Harmony can do it.
