Remember me doesn't work

Jun 10, 2009 8:44AM PDT

Even though I click on remember me when I go to my game sites and all sites I go to regularly it doesn't work. I always have to sign in again. I don't know if I clicked on something that caused this to happen but I don't know how to fix it.

As long as the computer is on I can go back into sites and it takes me to where I was but if I shut down my computer, the next time I get on I have to login to the sites all over again. It is a pain, especially the game sites where I have reached a certain level but I lose all progress when I shut down computer. I know it is something with my computer because with my computer at work, even when I shut it down, when I start it again I can go right into the different sites that I clicked the Remember Me and right back to the level I had reached previously.

Could any of you please tell me what to do to get this to work on my computer?

Thank you for any help.

And Once Those Cookies Are Enabled, Don't Delete Them..

Many folks automatically set their browser to delete all Cookies and Temporarily Internet Files at shutdown.. Doing so will eliminate the "rermember me" cookie and you'll need to log in again the next time you visit the site.

Hope this helps.

Once Those Cookies Are Enabled, Don't Delete Them

I checked both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Fox Fire. The cookies are not disabled. Someone at work said it sounded like some program on my computer was not allowing something to function properly.

I did check my temporary internet files and there are cookie files on there and each one says item type as - Text

Even though the cookies are there before I shut off the computer when I shut it off and turn it back on the Temporary Internet File is then completely empty so I am stumped.

I have Avast AntiVirus, Spywear Terminater, Registry Repair and PC PitStop. Don't know if it could be one of those doing it.

Yep, It Could Be One Of Those Programs Clearing The Cookies

Check their settings and if you're needing to find which one is the culprit, uninstall all but Avast and test.

And to make sure Internet Explorer is automatically clearing the Cookies, open Control Panel, then the "Internet Options" icon, then the "Advanced" tab, then scroll to the "SEcurity" section and make sure the "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed...." box is UNCHECKED.

Hope this helps.
