Task Scheuler
Dec 23, 2010 1:28AM PST

Bob this part of it worked fine and I got an updated report however my problem seems to be running deeper.I open "task scheduler" and I get this pop up message "the task image is corrupte or has been tampered with".It repeats this for a number of files like 15 to 20 I didn't count them all.The only thing that I am aware of that changed in the meantime there was a total of 13 windows updates all done at the one time.Have you any idea where I should look for the source of the problem?

Sorry but

Let me dismiss reliability monitor and its woes for a bit and head for another area.

Tell me what's failing. I've found working machines that fail items like this yet they are usable and show no other errors.

Tell me something else other than racagent and windows update failures (which are widely discussed.) More clues and telling what is failing besides this may find a direction to head and a solution other than "reinstall the OS."

Task Scheduler

I like the direction you have suggested and being it was such an extensive list of corrupted files from "scheduled defrag" to "auto wake" I did a system restore prior to that batch of 13 window updates. There is no corrupted files being listed now so the trick will be to determine which of the updates caused the problem.Thx Bob for the guidance.

Miss or hit?
Dec 24, 2010 5:01AM PST

I see it's ok on some machines so something is not correct here.

Let me share that I've found this to sometimes turn out to be when MSFT didn't test with Norton version Moonbase 1999 or such. I can't guess which combo is doing it.

But let me thank you for the update!
Bob
