So there it is. Why not toss the bums out first?
I have pentium 4 with 2.4Gh clock. There are three partitions with XP loaded on C drive. Recently, I down loaded a free DVD read/ write program. Since then, my Internet explorer does not work properly. But, Safari browser works. But, even when I am not on line the Broadband internet connection shows terrific traffic. I think a virus has taken over and is trying to use my desk top computer as a proxy server. So, I have now shifted over to my laptop for my internet connection.
The problem I am facing is this! Even though I have a valid licensed copy of Norton anti-virus installed, it fails to show any virus. Now, to me it appears that I will have to reformat the C drive. In that event, do I have to buy a new copy of Windows XP again? Note that I had 'Activated' WIndows XP when I bought it some years ago. What is the way out? I have the original CD's of most softwares and other programs are free ware. Please help
