Replacing the hard disk ...

isn't enough reason to need another license. You can reinstall using this one. Possibly the automatic activation is refused, but then Microsoft will give you a new code via their activation-problems phone, if you tell them the story. But probably it will be accepted automatically if this is the only change.

If so we know where this is headed. Sadly the ending is not in our hands. Once the money changes hands they rarely give it back.

What OS do you have that you can install?

Don't wait, report the ******. MS has already told you that the version wasn't suppose to be for sale. On top of that, it was eBay where anything is open to debate. Don't hesitate, report now to increase the chance of money recovery. -----Willy Happy

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
