Reinstalling Keyboard Drivers in WindowsNT Server

Feb 15, 2004 5:09PM PST

We seem to have lost the keyboard drivers for our server machine. When Windows loads it gives a message saying

One or more devices or drivers failed to load on startup

then gives the instruction to press CTRL,ALT+DEL to login. Problem is,with the keyboard not working, CTRL,ALT+DEL does nothing. When windows is loading theres no keyboard response.Tried to install Windows again, but as soon as Setup runs you need to "Press a key to continue"

How do i reinstall my drivers when every method I can think of involves using a keyboard as an input method?

Please help me here, this machine is essential to our company and, more importantly, my job and it's drivin me mental

It involves what is known as a PARALLEL INSTALL of the OS so you can drop files into the proper places as well as edit the other instance of the registry.

The method is documented in both the NT and Windows 2000 Server Resource Kit which is a bit long so I can't type that here. But the key phrase PARALLEL INSTALL should give you all that you need to know as a NT 4 maintainer.
