reinstalling hardware drivers for dell dimension 2400

Hi,

I've just succesfully formatted my pc and re-installed windows using the "Operating System - Reinstallation CD MS XP Home Edition including Service Pack 1A" cd that came with my dell pc. After that i continued on to install all the hardware drivers using the "Drivers and Utilities - Dell Dimension Resource CD." All of them installed fine except for the network drivers. The installation instructions required me to right click on my computer > properties > hardware > device manager > network devices, the only problem is that network devices didnt show up in the list. All of the other drivers just required me to click on "install" and the computer did the rest of the work. Is there an alternate method of installation or am i missing something? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. I was excited to have my comp running so smoothly but now i cant use the internet.

Something like "Unknown devices" in the Device Manager, and that's what you're looking for.

network adaptors

im working on a system reinstall from service pack one xp cd on a dell 2400. im reinstalling drivers all work but the network driver is hard, if got to where the network adaptors are but there are a few to choose from, im not sure which is correct

You also can go to dell.com and put in your product's id and it will identify more parts of your machine.

Also I've tried each one and see which one takes. Since it's a clean install it doesn't matter since I can always start over and pick the right one the next time.
