What is the equivalent of 'scanreg /restore' command for Win XP Pro ?

That's what System Restore does. No exact replacement, but that's it.

Thanks. So, with XP, I am not able to use the command line to choose which day's good registry to go back to, like I was able to with Win 9x and Me (scanreg /restore) ? Yes-System Restore does the same thing, but this is 'different'. BTW, does XP scan and backup the registry on first boot every day ?

System Restore is "different" and better (I will not enter any debate please) as it will snag OS file changes as well.

You can adjust the snapshot time as you see fit, so that you can control. Let's find a link about that?
