Since a slide show is not part of what gets installed off a Windows 2000 CD (the one from Microsoft with SP1), I can't comment since there are too many slide softwares out there. You would have to look at said slide software and find out if it has a control/checkbox to allow screensaver.

"Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution."

Please follow CNet's Tip. Without the details such as what software is being used, I can only guess.

Bob,

This problem is happening with all types of H/W like IBM(p-iv),Dell(p-ii).. And the PC contains only Win2k with SP4 and Office2000.

The problem is, When ever PPS(powerpoint slideshow)run
the screensaver will be disable automatically.

That's by design.

"Microsoft realizes that users frequently give presentations from their laptops. With PowerPoint 2000, Windows screensavers are disabled during a presentation. In addition, the laptop?s low-power screen mode has been disengaged to prevent interruptions during a presentation."
from a Microsoft support article.

Sadly, I do not own that particular version of PowerPoint. I do have it on a Windows ME box, but Office 97 and Open Office is on the Windows 2000 box at present.

Now that we know that PowerPoint (PP2000) is supposed to do this, you may need to research PP2000's settings to see if they have an off switch.

This is not a Windows 2000 issue.
